The good thing is the ongoing anti-corruption investigation in the financial sector

However for long-term results, institutions needs to be set up, strengthened, and given the power to regulate without having to care about repercussions from investigating X or Y company which is close to Z local govornement or other officials.
I would recommend everyone read this book called "Chinese Antitrust Exceptionalism: How the Rise of China Challenges Global Regulation"

Harsh title but not a lie

Fraud

Fraud x2

Fraud x3

Fraud everywhere

Harsh but not far from the truth. There is too much fraud and corruption for policies to be effectively implemented.

Again, another example of how much inadequate the law and the enforcement mechanisms are regarding companies disclosing financial statements.
If only there was some way for the authorities to see where all financial movements were made in real time…

Just to give you the scale this.

The 4 million ton/year for a total of 20 years is expected to cost China, $30 billion! (total cost for 20 years)
this order is small. i am not sure why it is called big deal.
China is trying to replicate Russian strategy by directly dealing business with US.
US imports $2B per month of energy products from Russia. trying to make energy expensive for EU and cheaper for US.

These are what I call growing pains. There will be more fraudulent companies as China races to developed country status. The key is to not let any company blow up the national economy.

I think I've mentioned before the key weakness of Chinese people is that some in their narrow mindedness step all over their fellow Chinese people.
You said it. I smirk when I see YouTube videos pop up of "China's reckoning" and "Great collapse" videos that pertain to the woes of property sector giants and other companies.

Shouldn't anti-PRC individuals be praying that China not punish these companies and continue to sweep them under the rugs until the great implosion happens ?

Isn't the current series of happenings indicative of China's governance doing what it is supposed to do? I want more of this to happen. Risks that are present to China should be reduced. GDP growth can wait.

So about $1.3 - $1.5B a year for over 20 years, quite big and it is possibly just a start, will be more and more. 4 million ton of LNG is roughly about 45 LNG carriers cargo per year or every 8 days

Is it possible when China rely on too much on US LNG .. and then suddenly booom, sanction by Trump like president in the future ? ... just wondering

The trend is for China's economy to become less carbon dependant and more green and renewable; natural gas and oil are stopgap measures to enable China's economy to surpass the west.

A lot of the anti-China YouTube videos are foreigners not Americans. Don't get me wrong. A lot of Americans hate but the fact is they don't care about the facts when they hate. It's a blind hatred. Americans generally don't care to learn the details of somebody else's problem with China. So when you see specific details mentioned... most likely not an American.

Would anything similar happen in the US ?
My understanding is that it is limited to shenzen ( although I'd be happy to be corrected and to know it is widespread). This is such a nice program. Companies ( foreign ones) should be "motivated" to do such stuff.
