I'm sorry folks. My earlier post wasn't meant to be suggesting that India forecast is anyway accurate at all. It just me being flippant about that forecast which gives all the Jai Hinds salivating at the prospect of being super power India.
If you look carefully, it was a forecast done pre-Covid. We all know what happened since. So super power India will have to wait a little longer.

As we can see even if India is growing at 7% per year it should only double it's current PPP to 18T. And of course China and U.S. isn't going to exactly stand still.
So the previous forecast was definately bullish.
And as mentioned by some of you already PPP is all fine and dandy if you are trading in haircuts and other non internationally traded goods. Given that India still rely the majority of their military procurement from abroad. PPP is a bit meaningless for super power status.
