Chinese Economics Thread

Giving more subsidies to the SOE´s is another example of the chinese government not moving towards more of a market-driven, less state-intervention, economy. They need to become more efficient and productive. Otherwise, they will indefinitly stay an export-dependent economy, that is, until they become too expensive to export. Then what?
you are very hypocrite, why don't you open us data at year 2008-9 when us taxpayer must paid " the too big too fail " zombies companies.
Are that non SOE efficient and productive ?

Bombardier is such a strange a Canadian story, with a stupid ending, which makes it so Canadian. Just to go off topic one second.

China state owned company wanted to buy Bombardier rail division in 2015 for $7 billion.

That offer was rejected.

Years later the same rail division was sold to Alstom for $6 billion.

When the deal was finally completed, the price was $3.6 billion.

Of course there were more layoffs for Bombardier and more asking for money from the government, all during this process. LOL!

Eventually, Bombardier will probably get more money from the government, because that gets them votes.

That is why democracy will not work in China. Everyone will call that a bride. In Canada, not sure what they call it?

This typical of Canada. A ton of votes in Ontario and Quebec, so even if 5 jobs are threatened, the federal government will spend billions trying to save it.

While here in Alberta, the oil industry generates way more money than the auto industry in Ontario or bombardier in Quebec, yet the government will try to tax it to death and put up barriers for growth. This is because they know Alberta only votes conservative, so they don't give a crap.

All those pipelines we try to build, the federal government don't care to help (KXL) or directly kill (energy east) by hypocrisy. Now that Line 5 is threatened, you see all these anti-pipe people suddenly become pro pipe because their propane cost and gas cost is going to go up. The Fed's and the provincial government now just care about the pipeline.

I hope line 5 dies, then maybe the Fed's will give some money to Alberta to build energy east and get rid of those stupid barriers they put up.

I thought for a moment I was in coronavirus thread and had a WTF moment that India was demanding Chinese oxygen concentrators and ventilators for India be made in India in order for China to have the honor of helping India out of their problem.

  • China’s total debt ratio fell 2.6 percentage points to 276.8 per cent of GDP in the first quarter after rising amid the pandemic last year
  • Central bank says debt ratio reduced without tightening credit conditions, but by greater efficiency of economic support measures
Wow China is just getting started with reducing debt without tightening credit! Very good news

Germany better keep its green idiots in check if they don't want to turn into another ukraine.
Sorry to say but the Greens are US puppets. I would bet that Blinken has wet dreams waiting for the Greens to be elected.

People here dont understand how the US infuence machine works. Greens, and the EU Parliament are a very good example of being US puppets
