The Heilongjiang Siberian Tiger Park in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, has entered its peak period for the birthing of tiger cubs.

As of Wednesday, 14 cubs have been born in the park, including twins, triplets, quadruplets and quintuplets.

The young mothers have no experience nursing, so four breeders — Li Xin, Jia Teng, Song Zhiyang and Zhang Xu — are taking on the task of feeding the babies.

"They need to be fed with milk every three hours for the first week after birth," said Li, noting that the milk is made from powder. "We also have to pay greater attention in observing their health by monitoring their appetite, body temperatures and feces."

Siberian tigers are among the world's critically endangered species. They mainly live in northeastern China and eastern Russia.

The park is one of three run by the China Hengdaohezi Feline Breeding Center, the world's largest breeding center for the rare tigers. The other two are located in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang province, and Shenyang, Liaoning province.

At a training base for high-speed train drivers in Wuhan, Hubei province, more than 3,000 trainees from across the country have been busy learning and practicing.

The High-Speed Rail Vocational Skills Training Section of Wuhan, set up by China State Railway Group Co, started to train high-speed train operators in 2014, with 51 initial trainees.

The country's largest high-speed train driving school, the base can now train about 30,000 drivers and other skilled workers annually.

Starting from 2015, the base has also trained railway workers and managers from 28 other countries, including Laos, Kenya and Nigeria. Altogether, it has trained more than 190,000 people from home and abroad.

It's equipped with bullet train simulators with comprehensive training functions, said Liu Wei, an instructor at the base.

"Drivers' operating platforms, including braking and traction equipment, are identical to real trains," Liu said, adding that the simulators will be updated as the real trains are improved over time.

The world's largest pump track park opened in Shenyang, Liaoning province, to increase local residents' enthusiasm for the sport and host more professional competitions.

Shenyang International Pump Track Park wants to be the venue at which China qualifiers are selected for the 2023 Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) pump track world championships, which is expected to kick off in July.

A pump track is designed for mountain bikers, skateboarders and BMX riders who generate momentum not by pedaling but by "pumping" motions of the body up and down over jumps, rollers and banked turns.

Selected museum collections are being showcased at Grandview Mall in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, to mark International Museum Day on Thursday and China Tourism Day on Friday.

Inheritors of intangible cultural heritage and local artists presented pieces at the event. Visitors also have access to immersive digital adaptions of cultural and museum contents.

Guangzhou is currently home to 73 museums. More such facilities are in the works.
