The Beijing Wtown resort at the foot of the Simatai Great Wall in Miyun district, northeastern Beijing, recently rolled out a tourism festival that will last until Oct 30.

Favorable ticket prices are on offer to those wearing traditional Chinese costumes hanfu when visiting the water town during Oct 16-22. Historical scenes featuring ancient culture, figures and events are arranged, and a Chinese-styled festooned vehicle parade, red carpet show and concert performance will be staged during the festival.

An adventure route has been developed for visitors to engage in a treasure hunt, and winners will receive a small prize. Moreover, hanfu stalls and a fair reminiscent of those held centuries ago will make for an immersive experience.

Discovered in the spring of 1953, the Banpo site covers an area of about 50,000 square meters. It unveils the rich essence of a typical matriarchal clan settlement from the Yangshao culture of the Neolithic Age, illustrating the social structure, daily life, economic patterns, marital states, customs, culture and arts from roughly 6,000 years ago. The Banpo Museum in Xi'an stands as the first prehistoric settlement museum in modern China, encompassing both the Banpo site and the invaluable artifacts unearthed from it.

With the onset of summer, the Banpo Museum in Xi'an has seen a surge in visitors and students eager to explore and learn. Visitors delved into the mysteries of ancient civilizations that thrived more than 6,000 years ago at the Banpo archaeological site. Engaging activities such as traditional fire-making through wood friction and pottery crafting allowed visitors to experience firsthand the production methods and lifestyle of ancient humans. Dinghai Bay beach, with mountains and ocean, is nicknamed Little Maldives in China. After sunset, the lights went on and several popular bands played music on stage. Many booths offered seafood, Taiwan snacks and creative and cultural products.

About 4,000 people took a part in the event, which was organized by the local government. Participants received discounts on accommodations and shopping with the music festival tickets and visited its 10 attractions free. BEIJING -- The Chinese Archaeological Museum, a national-level professional museum established by the Chinese Academy of History, opened to the general public on Friday.

Located in the northern part of the Beijing Central Axis, the museum boasts an exhibition space spanning over 7,000 square meters and showcases over 6,000 exhibits divided into five themed sections.

As its unique feature, the museum will showcase its collections in a "warehouse" style and offer an immersive experience for visitors. It also combines exhibitions with heritage preservation, academic research, and publicity functions.

The museum opens between 9 am and 4:30 pm from Tuesday to Sunday, with corresponding adjustments on national holidays. Tuesday is a group visit exclusive, and Wednesday to Sunday are open to public members. Reservations are required for all visits.
