Smoked meat is widely made and consumed by local people in Chongqing as a common preparation for the Spring Festival. A batch of smokeless ovens developed by environmental protection equipment enterprises have been set up in residential areas of Chongqing to help reduce air pollution during the making process of smoked meat. Part of a ramp bridge in the city of Ezhou, central China's Hubei Province, collapsed on Saturday afternoon, killing three people and injuring four others, according to the provincial transport and police departments.

The accident took place at around 3:36 p.m. Saturday, when part of the ramp bridge connecting the Shanghai-Chongqing expressway and Daqing-Guangzhou expressway collapsed. Dancers of the National Ballet of China performed the three-act classic ballet piece Onegin, one of the world's greatest ballets based on Russian poet and playwright Alexander Pushkin's novel Eugene Onegin, in Beijing from Dec 16 to 19. The performance was part of the ongoing fifth China International Ballet Season.
Originally choreographed by John Cranko for Germany's Stuttgart Ballet, Onegin premiered in 1965.

HONG KONG - Hong Kong residents enjoyed free rides on most routes of the public transport systems on Sunday, as the government has made special arrangements for the polling day of the 2021 Legislative Council General Election.
The free rides cover services by the Mass Transit Railway Corporation, Kowloon Motor Bus, New World First Bus, Long Win Bus, New Lantao Bus and Tramways, except the MTR's Airport Express, franchised buses' airport and border routes as well as sightseeing routes. Some overnight bus "N" routes, new long-haul services "P" routes, and southern Lantau routes are also not covered.

An ice and snow festival was held in the World Park in Beijing, capital of China, Dec. 19, 2021. A large number of Beijing citizens attended the event in the park. Seventy-one-year-old Gao Fenglan, an inheritor of embroidery based in north China’s Shanxi province has trained more than 6,000 people over the past decade, most of whom include laid-off workers, rural women, and jobless young women, in a bid to pass down the traditional craft to younger generations while giving impoverished people a tool to escape their poverty.
