Four international students from Yangtze Normal University caught a glimpse of China's Spring Festival travel rush, also known as "chunyun" in Chinese, on Saturday as volunteers serving passengers returning home at Fuling North station in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
"What I have experienced today is very different from my previous impression of chunyun. I did not feel crowded. The high-speed trains offer great convenience to people's travels. I am glad to participate in it," said one of the volunteers whose Chinese named is Ying Ming.

The death toll has risen to nine in a road collapse accident in the city of Xining, capital of northwest China's Qinghai Province. Authorities put the number of injured at 17, all of whom are in stable condition, according to the city government.

The new optical remote-sensing satellite for commercial use Red Flag-1 H9, along with three small satellites, is launched by a Long March-2D carrier rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province, Jan. 15, 2020. China sends a new optical remote-sensing satellite for commercial use into planned orbit from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province on Wednesday morning. The satellite, belonging to the Jilin-1 satellite family, also named Red Flag-1 H9, was launched by a Long March-2D carrier rocket at 10:53 a.m. Beijing time. The new satellite, developed by the Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd., has a super-wide coverage and a resolution at the sub-meter level. It is also capable of high-speed data storage and transmission.
