Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-shing on Thursday officially stepped down as leader of a business empire after showing up as chairman of CK Hutchison and CK Asset at the two companies' annual general meetings. Li, who will turn 90 in July, was succeeded by his elder son, 53-year-old Victor Li Tzar Kuoi. After retirement, he will serve as a senior adviser of the companies and focus on his charity foundation which was set up in 1980. The changes are in line with his announcement made in March. AMMAN, May 7 (Xinhua) -- King Abdullah II of Jordan on Monday received Jack Ma, founder and chairman of China's e-commerce giant Alibaba Group, the state-run Petra News Agency reported.
At the meeting, the kingdom's investment climate and incentives were reviewed, especially that Jordan has free trade agreements with several countries and that the country is home to qualified human resources.

Also Monday, the Jack Ma Foundation (JMF) announced the first-stage funding of 3 million U.S. dollars to support the mission of the Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development (QRF) and its work in the country's educational field.

Giant panda Longlong, the first of its kind born in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, is expected to give birth to a cub in June or July, according to the Giant Panda Protection and Research Center of China.

Longlong was born in July 31, 2013, after her mother Meiqing was moved from Wolong of Sichuan province in 2012 to the Chimelong Safari Park in Guangzhou.

Villagers build a wooden Diaojiaolou building, a traditional architectural style in Miao ethnic group, in Wuying Village, a Miao village under joint administration of Rongshui County, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Congjiang County, southwest China's Guizhou Province, on May 9, 2018.
