Breathtaking autumn scenery in Mt. Huashan

Huashan Mountain is about 35 kilometers away from Huma county in northeast China's Heilongjiang province. It is one of the top 100 scenery spots in Heilongjiang, ranked after the famous Beiji (Arctic) Village. The magnificent view at Huashan makes it look just like an oil painting, which is why it was named "Huashan" as "Hua" means painting in Chinese.

That is very, very beautiful indeed! Thank you for posting them.

I have always been partial to mountain scenery and live in the Inter-mountain west of the US (in Idaho).

My sons took me here for my last birthday. See the link for a lot of pictures of it:

Amazing autumn scenery of Caohai Lake

Caohai Lake, a state-level natural reserve located in the western suburbs of Weining County, is the largest fresh water lake and the largest highland wetland in Guizhou. It's as famous as Qinghai Lake in Qinghai, and Dianchi Lake in Yunnan. Covering a water area of more than 30 square kilometers, the tranquil and beautiful lake is dubbed "The Pearl on Guizhou Plateau".

The lake is the largest overwintering site for migratory birds in southwestern China and one of the world's top 10 highland wetlands for bird observation. The lake is a real paradise for bird watchers, being home to over 180 species, including over 70 rare ones, such as the Black-necked Crane, Black Stork, and Hooded Crane. Black-necked Cranes are the only plateau crane in the world, considerably beautiful but highly endangered.

Colorful autumn scenery of Tanzhe Temple
Located at the foot of Tanzhe Mountain in Mentougou district, Tanzhe Temple is one of the well known Buddhist temples in Beijing. The temple was built along the mountain contours. Most buildings in the temple were built in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. There are also many pagodas from various dynasties such as the Jin (1115–1234) and Yuan (1279–1368).

The chairman of a Hong Kong-listed oil company was rescued by police in western Taiwan last night after spending 38 days held by kidnappers, according to Taiwanese media reports.

Pearl Oriental Oil chairman Wong Yuk-kwan, 68, also known as Wong Kun, was abducted as he left his residence in Xindian district, New Taipei City late last month.

The businessman had been due to face fraud charges in Hong Kong’s High Court related to the purchase of a US$225 million oilfield in Utah, the United States, and was released on bail. He was originally due to appear back in court today.

Wong said he thought he could die at any time during his 38 days in captivity, according to Taiwanese media.

"Every day I felt I might not be able to see the sun the next day," Taiwanese newspaper Chinatimes quoted him as saying.

The moment he saw police officers break open the door to rescue him last night, Wong said he felt he had "picked his life back up from hell's gate".

It was unclear if Wong’s family sent ransom money but in a video clip apparently filmed by kidnappers six days before his release, Wong asked his daughter to pay to secure his freedom.

According to footage obtained byApple Daily the appeal was dated October 22, 2015.

Looking tired and appearing to have suffered facial injuries, Wong says:
“My dearest daughter, it’s daddy. Today is October 22, 2015 on Thursday. Please come to help mum remit the remaining amount [of ransom] tomorrow.

“Stay strong. Wait for my return.”

Wong is heard saying when they were all safe they would go to a favourite restaurant of theirs together.

The video – in which a bedraggled Wong is wearing a white t-shirt and shorts - ends: “Love you”.

The mysterious Tianshan Grand Canyon in Xinjiang
The mysterious Tianshan Grand Canyon, also known as Keziliya Grand Canyon, is a canyon near Keziliya Mountain (a branch of Tianshan Mountain) formed by wind and rain over billions of years. "Keziliya" in Uighur means red cliff. The canyon is as long as 5.5 kilometers from east to west with an average depth of 1,600 meters. The reddish-brown mountains of the grand and rugged canyon are in different shapes, and gullies and trenches can be found everywhere. Some places are too narrow to pass through. The peaks in the canyon are multicolored, and strange-shaped stone formations can be found.
