Does president Xi speak English, I know he has an interpreter and so does Trump, but on some of the promo shots when the two of them does not have interpreters within ear shot they seem to be conversing with each other pretty well without help.
Xi doesn't speak any English.

Xi spent the summer of 1985 in Iowa and didn't learn any English? That's extremely doubtful. More likely Xi has working knowledge of English, but for high-level discussions, Mandarin is best to avoid miscommunication.
Xi spend two months in Iowa. You can't pick up a language that fast. Also that was years ago, when he was already an adult.
He also did not have any English education when he went to school. When he was in Iowa he was there on government assignment, which means there would be a translator with the group.

Even for kids, picking up a new language is hard in two months.

Also remember Chinese and English as vastly different. If a French speaker pick it up in two months then its believable.
