According to Broadcasting British Corporation (BBC) reported on December 15th, the Spanish police recently arrested more than 200 Chinese people suspected of telecommunications fraud, involving up to 16 million euros (about $116 million).
The report said that the Spanish police dispatched more than 600 police in the capital Madrid and Barcelona and Alicante City destroyed 13 call centers. The Chinese were suspected of posing as police, cheating Chinese families to deposit money into their bank accounts.
Spanish police say the fraudsters have defrauded thousands of Chinese families of money, mostly in poor families. These fraudsters use the Spanish telephone center to call China for fraud. First they claim to be victims of friends or family members, then the implementation of a variety of tricks, finally the police said it was investigating the front associates pretended to alleged fraud cases, then the victim will be asked to help the police solve the case, and deposited money multiple accounts.
