thought a follow up would be a good idea when I saw this on my news feed.
Remember this?

This is the Sad Fate of China’s Futuristic Road Straddling Bus
Reuters
PRC's method is to encourage ideas from all over the world and trying them on the local level, and if successful, at metro, provincial, and finally national levels. The fact an out-of-the-box idea was tried on a city-level at all says a great deal about the so-called rigid CCP leadership. Will everything they try succeed? Of course not. But, creative ideas are required to generate creative solutions to address immense economic and environmental problems in China. So, instead of chuckling, westerners should take note of PRC fostering innovative environments in an authoritarian state. Why's that important? Because it's something so many western know it alls said couldn't be done.

Well at least they tried. The article just make it seems like anything new and innovative that China does is a failure because it is Communist therefore can never be better than the west. It's like the author is happy that it didn't turn out well. Oh but beware two can play that game, just don't bitch and moan about it when it's one's turn to face the wrath.
This is indeed a sad story. I was so enthusiatic when they made it real. However, this can serve as a demontrator. Base on this they can innovate future urban transportation.

I always wondered why cities fell out of love with monorails as a way og getting around. I liked ridiing around in the one they had in Sydney.
