Eighteen couples celebrated a group wedding on a warship at a military harbor in Qingdao, Shandong province on Monday. The bridegrooms are serving members of the North Sea Fleet of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy who are poised to embark on a long journey of escort assignments in the Gulf of Aden. They had intended to delay their nuptials until the end of the mission, but fleet commanding officers decided to hold a group ceremony for them.
A zoo in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, has nurtured 50 koalas over the past eight years, becoming the world's second most successful animal sanctuary in rearing the marsupials after Australia.
The Chimelong Safari Park, in the city's southern Panyu district, first introduced six koalas from Australia in 2006, and the world's first koala twins were born there in 2007. After introducing four more early this year, the zoo now has five generations living together. A meet-and-greet was staged on Monday allowing visitors to interact with the animals.
Li Jingyang, from Jilin city, Heilongjiang province, drives a home-made wooden wagon on Sunday. He started building it six years ago and has upgraded four times. Now 1.4 meters high and 2 meters long,, the wagon is powered by batteries and can go forwards and in reverse as well as left and right.

A railway engine undergoing tests swept down a mud wall and crashed into a neighboring residential community in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Wednesday, after derailing at a local locomotive manufacturer.
Nobody was injured in the accident. The locomotive was running at five kilometers per hour, according to employees of the Liuzhou Locomotive Factory under the Nanning Railway Bureau. It crashed five meters into the residential community.
Initial investigation found that mechanical breakdown was the cause. The exact cause is still under investigation.
