I consider the below non-military so I'll post this here.

Google translation.. I'm not responsible

After more than four hours exchanges, more than 20 officers and 20 unmarried men than young women leave each contact, five older men and "partner" to establish a friendship.

Re: Chinese Daily Photos, Videos & News of 2013!!!

is that a hybrid bike? the tires are too narrow for a regular motorcycle and there is a bicycle pedal there as well! the 'bike' also looks to be very small unless the ladies are giants....and what is up with that humongous mitten/gloves the rider is wearing?

Those are electric "bicycle". They are smaller than a standard scooter in China, but I think the size should be around the 50cc ones. Those tires are standard sized for electric bicycle. The Humongous glove you are looking at, is like a big mitten, with the thumb gone, and the throttle plus the brakes lever are inside the mitten. Most riders in China does not like to wear gloves and they have it on the scooter or motorcycle to protect them from the cold and wind.

Sleeping on the floor with mats? Nothing to it, it's like going camping.

i think the biggest incentive here is so the parents don't have to get a hotel and save some cash while they bring their kids to school.

but culture's definitely a part of it too. chinese people have a thing for sleeping on hard surfaces over a mat. i think i've heard something about it being better for your bones than a soft bed haha.

like i say to many westerners who can't understand why we do certain things: it's medicine.

I was referring to hanging out with your kids when they enroll in college. Those kids need to grow up. Mommie and Daddy won't be around all the time. They should do the popeye method..

Late August 2007

1) Drive daughter and her stuff from San Diego to Berkeley in a small U-Haul..
2) Help her unload it.
3) take her to dinner.
4) take her back to her dorm.
5) Say the last few good byes.
6) Drive back to SD in said U-Haul

I think that's what they were doing in the first place. Getting the kids and the parents acquainted with the college settings and such.
