Re: Chinese Daily Life in Videos, Photos & News!

I really hate these people that just want to criticize the HK government no matter if they are doing a good thing or bad thing. I am pretty sure that some of the same people that went against the budget for handing out money was requesting for a hand out 3 years ago. HK almost always report that they had a surplus and 3 years ago, some people were crying out for cash to be handed out like what Macau did and only one person (scholar) says that those request were short sighted publicly on TV. The scholar suggested that the money was better spent at investing for public housing and not returning quarterly property taxes (since only the rich owns property). None of these people came out and say the request was short sighted. After 3 years, the government is trying to settle some discontent in the general public and these people came flying out denouncing the budget as short sighted. They don't even know a thing about economics, they just heard the concept from a leader and think it is wrong. If you want to go against a government action, going to the extreme would not get you major public attention (a lot of Hong Kong citizen especially those that have been from Canada and the US would generally disagree on what they say). If you can make a really good and valid argument and even if they government doesn't listen to it. The general public will support it.
