it's their loss anyway, China's gain and prestige
no offense to fellow US members, but how the US government treated NASA and it's current space programs, is quite sad

EXACTLY!! ^^^ The US federal government is treating NASA like it did after the Skylab missions..pitiful. I wish China and Russia all the best in space exploration. Hopefully the US will return to space with manned missions someday....SOON!.

Nothing is forever. Lets just say that things are on hold until a Congress less backwards in its thinking and in tune with reality, revokes such a ban.
At least the ice between the scientists have been broken when nasa space director Griffin went to china in 2006

"We saw things at a top level," said Associate Administrator for Space Operations Bill Gerstenmaier, who accompanied Griffin on his trip. "We saw areas that are interesting to us that I think we'll ask our experts at a lower level to pursue and understand in the future. This trip really accomplished what it was supposed to do which was a kind of get-acquainted overview of the China space activity. Next steps will bring in a little more lower level detail in and more specifics about where we're going."

What were the kid and his elder brother doing there? Are they beggars? Well.... If I say something bad about them, do you think that I'm too heartless, no compassion? But being a person living in underdeveloped country, these things are normal to me. Poor kid, he might also be a retarded child. But people surrounding him might not be. They use him as an instrument for begging money. Sometime, newborn babies are "rent" for begging money also. If you see a women carrying a baby begging on the street, do not think the baby is her child yet.

Sadly but true, those things goes on everywhere around the world, particularly in urban areas or touristy destinations. It's so hard to police these things.
