Question for the fans of this thread. Why are the college entrance exams a big deal in China? is the competition that tough? I can't imagine anything like this going on over the SAT in the US.
Its seen as the pathway to a better meal ticket, and the better the passing grade, the better the chances one has of being accepted in the top institutions.IMO too big a deal is made of going to university at the expense of technical institutes. At least its that way in N.Z.

OT. Some time ago Down at my local bank i was watching this Asian teller (woman) counting out fresh new bank notes . It was fascinating as i had never seen it done with such skill as she could fan those notes out like a top notch card dealer at a high class casino.and last night , who I saw a woman put $6.000 to win on Djokovic @$1.40 beating Federer ,across at my local family bar.I wonder if it was the same woman, because she counted out the money in a similar fashion, as well as being fortish and quite attractive.
(In NZ many bars are also betting agencys.) It was the way she counted out the money that caught my attention, She fanned it out like a deck of cards. The topless hostesses they have here on thursdays and fridays.are a bit of a bore.

Hehehe...I bring her home alright...to my place to crash in! I'll fix her some breakfast in the morning too.

I don't know what's the big deal about imported American beef in Taiwan? I've eaten it all my life and there's nothing wrong with it. Probably the local beef industry doesn't want to compete with outside world or the US, who knows. The beef is SAFE, I've just ate one for lunch today.
Unless Im mistaken, you can also pick up the disease from consuming tainted by products from the diseased beef, such as seasonings and confectionary
