Xue Fuli, who temporarily works at Nanchuan village in Xiji county in Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region to help alleviate poverty, works on an oil painting that reflects scenes in the village. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]
Xue Fuli oil paintings record idyllic rural life in Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region in paintings while helping a local village rise out of poverty.
Xue, a public servant in the region, has created many oil paintings in his spare time that show scenes of the village's landscape and residents' work, lives and entertainment activities.
He used to be a teacher at Ningxia Polytechnic but now temporarily works at Nanchuan village in Xiji county to help alleviate poverty.
He wants to record the scenes he has seen in the village and neighboring regions while working with residents and building a beautiful village.

Xian Min, who became disabled after coming down with polio at the age of 1, started her industrial drone business in Chongqing when she was 48, after years of exploration in the logistics and electromechanical equipment industry.
Xian's family was once worried about the industrial risk and her physical condition. However, Xian gave it a try and devoted herself to relevant study and research, and formed a team with her husband to develop industrial drones.
At present, Xian leads her team to launch a variety of industrial drones, including products for river inspection, aerial mapping, agricultural plant protection, pest control and emergency rescue. She also gets involved in public welfare and provides services to disabled entrepreneurs for free.
"I long for running and flying, though I can't walk easily, and the drone business fulfilled my flying dream," Xian said.
