Construction work continues on the Raffles City Chongqing complex in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality. Located at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers, Raffles City Chongqing has been designed by world-renown architect Moshe Safdie, who drew inspiration from the region's thousand years of waterway transportation history.

Now, the eighth and final skyscraper of Raffles City Chongqing has been topped out. Four of the enormous structures are linked by The Crystal - a 32.5-meter-wide, 26.5-meter-tall "horizontal skyscraper", 250 meters above the ground, which accommodates a viewing deck, an infinity pool, a sky-walk and varied dining options. I can't wait for this bad boy of a building to be complete.

Organized by the East China branch of China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co, the event gathered couples working across the company's different departments, including electricians, cooks, crane drivers and construction laborers. Most of them have never been to a photo studio to have their portraits taken before.

"We didn't take wedding photos when we tied the knot because of financial problems," said Zheng Fengxian, a worker from the company. "After having a child, I had to take care of the family and work. We had no time or energy for such activities," she added.

Dong Zhanli, another female worker, said that being able to have her portrait taken was a beautiful moment in her life.

Yu Xiaolan uses sign language to communicate with hearing-impaired students at the Nanjing School for the Deaf in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, March 4, 2019.

Having spent 17 years with hearing-impaired students at the Nanjing School for the Deaf, Yu Xiaolan has never regretted her choice as a teacher here. "I still remember the day when I came to the campus for the job interview," said Yu, "I could see students running on the playground, just like the normal kids of other schools, but I couldn't hear even a small sound. I was deeply touched and decided to stay." Yu has ever since dedicated herself to the hearing-impaired students. "It's not that easy to get access to the inner world of the students here, but once they accept you, they would place great trust in you," said Yu. "I am trying my best to help them grow up. I really hope they would have a bright future." (all photos...Xinhua/Ji Chunpeng)

That's such a beautiful gesture from their employer. Corporate citizenship par excellence.
At same time, surely they must have earned it through their services to have be selected. Bravo to them all.
