The world's first Legoland-themed aircraft was jointly unveiled on June 16 by Legoland Shanghai Resort and Juneyao Air, announcing a strategic partnership on the same day to explore a new consumption model that integrates aviation and cultural tourism. [All Photos provided to chinadaily.com.cn]
The Airbus A321 jetliner, painted and decorated with Legoland themed elements, is scheduled to operate its inaugural flight from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to Guangzhou of Guangdong province on Monday.
"As a benchmark for innovation in China's civil aviation industry, Juneyao Air's vibrant and quality-driven service philosophy deeply resonates with Legoland, which is dedicated to making the possibilities of Lego bricks come to life on an epic scale, sparking a lifetime of play, creativity and imagination," said Chen Jie, general manager of Legoland Shanghai Resort.
Viewing the collaboration with Legoland Shanghai Resort as a significant step in Juneyao Air's brand rejuvenation, Xia Haibing, vice-president of Juneyao Air said, "Through this unique experience of a 'theme park in the sky', we look to enable travelers to embark on a magical journey in the sky."
"The launch of the themed jetliner marks the beginning of our cooperation, with a lot more interactive collaborations in the pipeline," said Zhang Wei, assistant of the president of Juneyao Air, adding that the aircraft with Lego coatings will service flights to popular destinations including Beijing, Guangzhou, and Xi'an of Shaanxi province.
