I must admit, I'm still very much sceptical if there is indeed a project to develop a "VTOL fighter concept featuring a forward lift engine and a rear main engine with thrust vectoring nozzles" as an operational type regardless how fancy it looks and how much useful it may be.

There's no reason to justify being skeptical lol -- at this stage there is no reason or suspicion to think it's being developed.
That is just fan art derived from that one patent, and entirely speculative.
I don't think we should be giving attention to fan art, in fact we should be actively ignoring it and preventing its spread.
I.e.; probably this stuff shouldn't be posted on here or on twitter or anywhere else, and if it is posted, it is our job to let people know that it is just fan art and nothing official.
The Yak-38 had forward lift engines. And that design seems to have swivel nozzles kind of like a Harrier.
The design isn't implausible. Could be funded eventually as something to use on the LHDs.
South Korea and Japan plan to use the F-35B in LHD class aircraft so it wouldn't be impossible if China eventually had a competing program.
I still think VTOL is a waste of time though. The concept of eventually adding EMALS for launch of UCAVs on the LHDs seems way more useful IMHO.

Yes, your tweet is too polite and makes it sound like you are saying it's a possibility.
Instead, posting a text only tweet like "That's just fan art and there's no indication it is being developed, and posting fan art with misleading commentary is tantamount to misinformation," would be more accurate.

Utility models are filed for a great number of things that have not been seriously worked on and may never see light of the day.
