Wow, this is completely unexpected!

It certainly looks legit, and I don't think it is a PS, given I don't recall any existing photo of a Y-20 in a similar orientation and background.

The question, is whether it is a new prototype or a repainted older prototype?
I think prototype 001 was the only one painted with a 78X number so far? This could simply be 003 (second flying prototype) finally painted in testing colours. 782 could be 002 (the static test frame)

I believe there is a 782 already, so this could well be a brand new unit.

Well there was always one Y-20 covered with that blue cover could be that unit or maybe that was for ground static tests and they have built more

So let's say they have half dozen Y-20!!! Wow that's still something

Still using the same type of engines.

I would say so, the WS-20 may be a while, as you know the J-20 is also going to get an afterburning version in due time, is that correct??? As you know these very high performance, efficient engines are very difficult to get up to spec, look at our own recent difficulties with the F-135, and the whole fleet is under flight restrictions.

No. The WS-20 is the high bypass variant of the Taihang. The version with afterburner would be the ws-10.

Now what are you going to say !??

You troll !!!

Word to the wise, calm down or you risk timeout. WS-20 might be in test process on an Il-76, and not ready for Y-20. That means the latter is still using Russian engines, and what I said was correct. You might not like it, but Y-20s will use imported Russian engines for years, because the WS-20 isn't ready.
