WS-20 is said to be (much?) quieter than D-30, which is beneficial for the crew, especially for longer endurance missions.

Honestly, when can we see the WJ-10 in flight?? Can't expect the new medium airlifter/Y-30 to still use WJ-6C, right??

the main purpose of Y-30 is, a clean sheet design and new/efficient Engines.. as i said earlier PLAAF is not happy with WJ-6C performance.
AEP-400 entered in material selection stage. last year we also seen new turboprop engine on testbed. this year on Chinese new year AECC celebrate with AEP-500 poster on day1.
Y-30 will have brand new engines.
What's the usual testbed for turboprops?
Most things about the Y-9 frame are old and crappy. The new design is very needed for special mission aircrafts
