Just likely from stage separation. A bit of flame protection on top should mitigate it in future.
Speaking of which, when would Zhuque-3's 2nd recovery attempt be conducted?
Using legs suddenly feels old fashioned, given the dry mass advantage in using a catching system (net or chopstick).
That's partly why Starship/Super Heavy goes that route. Tbh the legs needed for a proper super heavy class launch vehicle are fairly significant so the bigger the rocket, the more favourable it is to ditch the legs.
Should be this month, although not sure what time exactly.
Also sad I was working during this, but huge congrats to China for becoming the first nation outside the US to recover a rocket, and the first using this method!
