Did they get rid of the gamma ray ground proximity detector and replace it with a rod? Or am I missing something?

. In case of orbital emergencies, such as losing contact with crew, the spacecraft can autonomously calculate a return flightpath, choose optimal landing spot, and execute re-entry and landing without any intervention from ground control or assistance from space tracking facilities.

The first-stage of Long March 10 will have a reusable version. Land and sea recovery tests have both been carried out using scaled models. In addition to the manned lunar mission, Long March 10 will also be used to carry cargo to the Chinese space station and deploy payloads to LEO.

The first stage of the reusable Long March 10A can be reused 10 times and is powered by seven (YF100N) 130-ton LOX/Kerosene engines. The rocket will be about 67m long, a diameter of 5m, and a take-off mass of 740 tons. Take-off thrust is around 892 tons, and capacity to LEO is ≥14 tons.

, the reusable variant of the Long March 10 rocket –– the Long March 10A –– will make its first flight in 2026. A model of the rocket will be exhibited at Zhuhai Airshow.

Long March 10A is developed from the Long March 10 moon rocket. Some specs are:
– Length: 67.4m (manned), 66.4m (cargo)
– Diameter: 5m
– Takeoff mass: 750 tons
– Capacity to LEO: >14.2 tons
