The Angry Astronaut is angry for some reason when he says the US has a different agenda for the moon than China. He claims China is only going to the moon to exploit resources. Then what is the US in a race with China for...? China just doesn't bullshit claiming it has a civilian space agency separate from their military one.

What the US won't admit which is why everything cost so much money for the West to do anything is someone private has to profit every step of the way. Every Artemis launch is going to cost the US $5 billion dollars. According to their propaganda timeline, the US will beat China putting people on the moon. So what are they worried about China for...?

Can we dispense with this kind of chest thumping. It's childish and unsophisticated.

We don't need to air every grievance or complaint that random youtubers or social media accounts or outlets write.


Yeah we get it, there is bias against the PRC and there's hypocrisy and so on. Everyone knows. There's no need to continue banging the drum in a community where it is just preaching to the choir.

The Angry Astronaut has more followers than all the people in this forum that have social media accounts combined. I wouldn't categorize him as some random YouTuber. What does that say about their credibility because I'm sure the other side looks down at their information as much as you do of theirs.

That guy is just a clickbait moron like half the youtubers out there. Half his videos are literally about UFOs or some bullshit new anti-gravity drive or just the usual SpaceX "You won't BELIEVE what ELON MUSK just did" type videos. Stop giving a shit, it's pretty obvious to basically all non-americans that Americans gets insanely triggered by anything that China does, good or bad actions alike. Videos like that are just reinforcing that fact.

Sure, and there are even more viewers and subscribers and followers for any number of people whose opinions about China are not in touch with reality.

Do we need to post all of them on this forum for us to be aware of them? It's preaching to the choir and all it does is air grievances and complain about their stupidity. We don't need this here.

Currently there is no direct rule prohibiting it because we expect members to exercise common sense and restraint, but if there's nothing constructive that can be derived from posting it apart from complaining then we may have to put in some sort of rule for this, at least in the proper threads like this.

If we go by number of followers on English social media, might as well appoint Serpentza, Laowhy and Noah Smith as the experts of China.

I am a moderator here and part of what I try to do is to keep the useful threads continuously useful.
This thread is one of the better ones, so yes by definition I'm here to judge.

You've been on this forum a while, so I am asking you to exercise some restraint in this thread and don't use it to just post grievances and complaints about things. I've asked others in this thread about different topics as well (unrelated to anti-China or pro-China arguments but relating to discussions that have gone in circles repeatedly).
Note how in this post and the last few posts I have not written in blue or red, because I am deliberately choosing to have a conversation with you as an equal to make this recommendation.


If other members post things that are objectionable and stupid, then feel free to push back against them.

However there is no reason for you to post what is basically just rage bait when most people here already feel the same.
