China's Space Program Thread II

On April 7, 2023, a Hyperbola-1 rocket from the private launch provider i-Space (also known as Interstellar Glory, Space Honor, Beijing Interstellar Glory Space Technology, StarCraft Glory, Interplanetary Glory, Interplanetary Glory Space Technology, etc.) was successfully launched into space. The main purpose of this launch was to verify the rocket's overall design and accumulate flight data. The mission is the fifth flight of the Hyperbola-1 launch vehicle but only its second successful launch.

P.S. If i-Space/Interstellar Glory/Space Honor/Beijing Interstellar Glory Space Technology/StarCraft Glory/Interplanetary Glory/Interplanetary Glory Space Technology had put more effort into developing the Hyperbola-1 rocket and spent less time inventing gimmicky names for itself, it might have been been able to avoid the embarrassing string of three consecutive failed launches. Pick one name and stick with it, FFS!

for the first stage of Long March 10.

3月29日,国内首件新一代载人运载火箭八通蓄压器成功通过冷冲击试验和1.4兆帕液压试验!航天一院211厂已成功突破和掌握了八通蓄压器研制的关键技术并取得重大阶段性成果
On March 29, the first eight-way hydraulic accumulator of a new generation of manned launch vehicle successfully passed the cold shock test and 1.4 MPa hydraulic pressure test. Factory 211 of the First Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology has successfully broken through and mastered the key technology of the eight-way pressure accumulator development and achieved major results.

Reusing old generation Long March boosters? Why are LM2-4 still so much used when 6-8 and 11 are available?
My guess is they either do not have enough production or launch capacity for the new rockets, or they do not want to dispose of the old inland launch sites for whatever reasons. You would think they would make new launch sites inland for the new rockets if only having launch sites close to the ocean is a problem for strategic reasons.

It is a misinterpretation of the video author. CASC is using these older CZ rockets to test various reusable technologies such as parachutes, grid fins and their related control SW, not that CASC is going to make them reusable. These tech will be used to make the new rockets reusable therefor cheaper per launch.

New rockets use YF-100 which is more expensive than the old engines. Without being reusable the new rockets are more expensive than the old rockets per launch, why should they pay for the higher cost? There was a saying that CZ-2 is as cheap as Falcon 9 in cost per unit mass per launch.
