This is a big deal this landing on Mars by the CNSA.
What I really was impressed by was the orbiter had to maneuver itself into position for the release of the lander, then thrust itself back into orbit to serve as the relay station.
They had to get the lander close enough to the atmosphere for release, and allow it to fall to the Mars surface.
The technical abilities demonstrated will get other nations excited, and they will want to work with the Chinese even more on space exploration.
It was really surprising when reading all the technical details of the mission. It was THAT complex.
What is also surprising is this thread. A lot of, "WE done it! Now in yo' face America and lackeys!" That surprises me, the level of frustration. But the comments were funny, so let it be, I guess, heh.
Here is an article from last month, as the People's Daily reported in one short paragraph a few countries that will be participating in a coming moon mission.
With this successful landing on Mars that was so technically complicated, and the space station being built, there will be a lot more countries willing to work with the CNSA in space exploration.
