It will not just be Taiwan. It will be opportunists Philippines who will be the staging ground for Anti China Forces. Remember this is a colonised country for more than 300 years and their culture and people are more western than the rest of South East Asia. They were the first and only nation I can recall that immediately jumped the bandwagon against Iraq and Afghanistan going so far as to arrest Iraqi citizens in the country and calling muslims terrorists. Their Law makers can freely insult muslims as terrorists in public forums and not suffer repurcussions. I don't know why the Chinese populace view them as nuetral or so highly. They were the ones who first cried out to kill the Chinese when Covid started. They support Hong Kong Black Clad terrorists as well, Every help China gives to them is seen as some sort of trade off rather than good will.

@duskseeker bro the new VFA is a transactional deal with a twist, we will control the movement of US deployment inside our country to prevent US adventurism in the SCS. Bro we welcome the US as a hedge but not as an accomplice, China is our neighbor and the US is a guest, why would we involved ourselves in a fight which ensured the destruction of our country.

Filipinas/os are turned coats. They suck what they want. They will abandon you to their own advantages. Do you trust them?

@davidau bro that is why its a transactional agreement with a twist, the former VFA is an American document that was forced on to us, this new agreement is a way to correct those onerous provision. Bro we know our strategic value, like I said China is our neighbor and the US is a guest, so who you will value more. Joining RCEP is an indication of where our trajectory is. In this competition between great powers having both feet in their doorstep is a sure way of surviving. You can't forced out the US due to its influence inside our country but having a say is better than having non at all.

@Kaeshmiri correct bro that is why the new VFA will answered that, only in time of armed conflict in the SCS will the Philippine allow the entry of US troops in that way you control any US misadventure.
