Umm, George W. Bush campaigned on jobs too.
I think the American public's attitude toward military adventurism has changed quite a bit since then.
Umm, George W. Bush campaigned on jobs too.
Business as usual, FON will continue, in fact China's Liaoning Carrier Group is basically conducting a FON-OP at present???
While anything could go South when somebody gets a little "stooped", IE the Hainan P-3 incident, SU-27s rolling around P-8s, I can assure you, it will NOT be US aviators or sailors engaging in any "Stoopidity", won't happen, can't happen!
Tell that to the relatives of Iran flight 655.
Just because the US government policy is to always call Chinese or Russian intercept of their spy planes as 'unsafe' does not make that a fact.
Arrogant slogan shouting serves no one. Let's just stick to facts and leave the petty posturing to the politicians.
Iran flight 655 is a senseless tragedy.
That's not going to change US policy in the SCS, nor does it excuse extremely reckless behavior by pilots running intercepts.
There are many intercepts that are conducted in an entirely professional manner, no one says a word about those, only the "STOOPID" are pointed out for their total disregard for the safety of fellow aviators doing their jobs in peacetime.
Well Trump seems to be okay with Russia's taking over Crimea where people were killed while he thinks China building islands where no one died in the process is a worse violation of international law. And this is coming from the guy who thinks he can steal all of Iraq's oil to pay back for a war the US started on the lie of WMDs in Iraq. Let's not forget how the US navy illegally boarded and seized for three weeks a Chinese ship back in 1993 on the suspicion that it was carrying industrial equipment to make chemical weapons to Iran. All that was found was farming tools. The US refuses to acknowledge they did anything wrong. How many international laws were broken? International law means nothing.
Bill Clinton sent two aircraft carriers through the strait but somehow there's something wrong when China sends a carrier through the strait off its own shore. Now who's the one who thinks they own the waters off of China that are supposedly international waters? Guess what? They've always done that even when China sends navy ships through international waters between two Japanese islands. Hypocrites.
Remember that Rex Tillerson was running Exxon when Obama gave them the okay to explore for oil with Vietnam in disputed waters of the South China Sea after Obama announced his Pivot to Asia. Of course he wants China out because that's a lot of money for Exxon.
Trump will make things better with Putin, and this present craziness in Europe will ramp down!
Unlike in 1996, China will not back down or back out. I will just get my Pringles ready.
