Here we are at my conclusion, the PH bossing other ASEAN members around and surrounding countries, thinking that US backing makes them strong. They even Threated Malaysia back then stating that they can get the USA to go to war with them to get Sabbah back and take the gas fields.

At the rate the Philippines is going, never mind China, there’s a non-zero and increasing chance it will get into a needless war against the rest of ASEAN and get absolutely curbstomped when the Americans tell them to kick rocks in response to the Philippines begging them for military assistance, and China sells advanced arms to any ASEAN nation fighting the Philippines.

• In 2024, PRC tactics in the South China Sea led to the loss of the Philippines’ unilateral access to some disputed areas, and forced talks between Beijing and Manila in which the Philippines agreed to concessions in exchange for access. However, Manila is unlikely to relinquish its claims, creating potential for escalation by either side.
