If we accept Moody's projection of 5% GDP growth in 2017, one must ask why it's only 5%? India's projected growth is over 7%, so what's different about Pakistan, besides spending much more on defense, relative to GDP? Should Pakistan cut back on defense and shift it to economic development?
Earlier Pakistan's growth rate was between 2.7 - 3.9% before these projects but within couple of years its touching 5% which is huge achievement & need to remember that majority of the projects are still under completion.
While OTOH India is huge & the current difference of only 2% its not huge if you compare both countries in its sizes & population. Secondly Pakistan budget is very small, hence cant compare the defense budget allocations.
