Well it's obviously not a foreign f-16....look at the usaf insignia on the back (unless that was painted on later; which would raise the question as to why)

could be venezuela AF F-16?US launched arm embargo, including spare part for 12 venezuela F-16A,hugo chavez decided to procure russian SU-30MKK,and one of them end up in China.

Not the F-16 of Venezuela are assets and barely one days ago they went to the maneuvers CRUZEX IV.

Aggressor units often wear the paint of the nations they simulate. I have seen F16's in Chinese colors and Russian colors Although they were There home nations markings. I think the 1:1 Model is the answer

Mystery only deepens with these pictures. It seems its like a 1:1 model after all, but someone certainly did his best to make one as close as he can as possible. For what purpose I don't know. Or it may be a salvaged airframe, then stuff added to fill in the details. The idea of being made or procured for a theme, military or aviation museum seems to come in the back of my mind.

Strictly a mockup.

This airplane never flew. Rivets and Fasteners, not Milspec standard. Sheetmetal of poor finish and quality. Pitot Tube not aligned properly, landing nose wheel door not correct. Landing gear too short, wrong size tires and wheels. Munitions racks would inhibit deflection of control surfaces. Cockpit using stereo-equipment to simulate avionics. Wrong Hud, Ejection seat and upfront controls. Insignia painted incorrectly.

Overall, very good mockup, but built with some aviation parts from other aircraft and numerous hand crafted panels. Someone's labor of love now on display.

This reminds me of the "kit car" replicas. If anyone still remembers the old Miami Vice TV series, the black Ferrari Daytona used in the first season was a replica made by McBurnie, built over a Chevy Corvette chassis.

My feeling is that the F-16 mock-up was not built by military. It was probably some aircraft fans with $$ and a lot of time on his hands. Or, possibly retired/purchased from a movie set?
