On February 4th, reporters learned from Xijing Hospital of Air Force Medical University that Academician Dou Kefeng's team, in collaboration with the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Tangdu Hospital of Air Force Medical University, and Sichuan Zhongke Aoge Biotechnology Co., Ltd., successfully performed the world's first in vitro perfusion therapy of six-gene-edited pig liver on a patient with liver failure. After 66 hours of continuous treatment, the patient's condition improved significantly, with major liver function indicators showing marked improvement. A technology novelty search confirmed that this is the first report of its kind both domestically and internationally.
