For construction of Diamar Bhasha Dam, 31695 acres of land has been acquired from the total required 37419 acres of land.This Project will be completed by 2025/6.
In order to increase the water resviors 26 projects are being planned by the WAPDA.
In a written reply to the question of Sahazzada Mohammad Yaqûb, Minister for Water Resources Syed Javed Ali Shah in the National Assembly on Monday, 26 projects are being constructed at this time.
The first phase of the Karam Tangi Dam Project in North Waziristan will be completed in April 2019. The Cabinet's Economic Contact Committee approved the PC-one project on April 22, 2016 and has been operational by 2019.
Construction of new Gauge dam in Sindh Dadu, will be completed in December next year.Under this project, there will be a capacity to store 0.160 million acres of water. 50.95 percent of the project has been in progress.
The progress continues on the construction of Diamer Bhasha Dam on River Indus near Challas. Under this project, 640 million acres of water will be able to store. The plan will be completed in 2025-26. The House has been informed that out of the total required 37419 acres of land, 31695 acres of land has been acquired till now.
As per the progress of project colony in the Valley, the construction of road connections to model weld and river banks at Harpak Das's place continues. Chakwal and Rawalpindi are being progressed on the basis of construction of two dams respectively. Chakwal Dam will have a capacity to store 0.026 million acres of water and it will be completed in June 2020.
Cabinet's Economic Contact Committee approved the construction of Pop Dam Dam in Town on Rawalpindi on February 7, 2018. Under this project, 0.032 million acres of water will be able to store.
