Ghandhara Nissan Ltd (GNL) started local assembly of JAC’s one-ton X200 pickup truck earlier this week in collaboration with JAC Motor China. GNL had already received Brownfield status for its plant and had also signed an agreement with Nissan Motor Corporation and is in process of launching Datsun models in Pakistan.

Now it has been reported that the company is planning to launch the JAC T6 double cabin pickup truck in Pakistan to cater the rising demand of such vehicles in our market. According to our information two exclusively made RHD (Right Hand Drive) units of the T6 pickup are headed to Pakistan for dynamic testing.

Once the vigorous testing is done, the company will launch the JAC T6 initially as a CBU import while the local assembling of these pickups will also be considered based on the market reception.

The T6 will come equipped with a 2.0 liter turbocharged common rail diesel engine and is available in both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations. Salient features include airbags, ABS+EBD, Electronic 4-wheel drive selector, double-wishbone suspension, 6 speed manual transmission, multi-function steering wheel, infotainment touch screen in the center console with sat-nav, radio, television, Bluetooth and USB connectivity & internet and a 4-star CNCAP crash test rating.

According to information the JAC T6 will be competitively priced and will go against the likes of Foton Tunland in our market.
