There are too many threads now, unnecessary divided, hard to follow now, also confusing to people where to post staff.
I dont see the reason to have so many threads, unable to fill up several pages for years...

They do have support facilities and prepared launch areas, but there is no hard requirement for PLARF units to operate exclusively out of those positions. Launch Battalions are able to deploy, emplace, and operate from just about any suitable location as long as the requisite Brigade-level (or higher in rare cases) support is arranged.
do you think an effective counter would be simply to knock out the Chinese satellites? especially beidou. cant hit your target if you dont even know where you are firing from know what i mean.

there are multiple ways to know your launch location. BM predates GPS or Beidou

surely they can, but just moving is not the biggest headache, rather than keeping their combat effectiveness.

think of heavy armor units, all the maintenance sub units need to come along with the combat team and keep functioning outside their home base.

i dont know but i think a SRBM bde is probably even more difficult to maintain and support, which is why i think maybe they have some sort of pre designated location for operation, cannot just move to any random place and be operational
When we analyze maintenance we should ask:

What are the wear parts in storage? In operation?

What is the MTBF for those wear parts?

What is the downtime associated with those wear parts?

Are they field replaceable or do they require depot service?

Once you know that, you know the maintenance footprint.
