Pardon me for being uneducated in EW hardware, but the centerline pod seems like it'll be pretty heavily obstructed by the intakes on either side? Shouldn't be an issue for the frontal antenna, but if there are any side-facing ones it becomes rather problematic. I don't really have enough knowledge on Chinese EW pods to know whether they have side-facing antennas so any info would be most welcome

If it is mounted on the centreline then chances are that specific pod is not intended to have side looking arrays that would be obstructed by the intakes either side of it.

Meanwhile, other, different pods with side arrays will simply not be mounted in that centreline position.

Fair enough, I was thinking along the lines of mounting what they have where they can (AKA the pod may not be entirely suited for the centerline position but is better than not having it there at all), but on second thought since it's a dedicated EW variant the design team must have thought through the issue much better than the second-class armchair engineer that I am.

It will, of course.

If the centreline pod is used primarily for offensive EW applications, being obstructed by the nacelles and engines is actually a net positive and highly desirable eventuality as it reduces the amount of interference it creates for the other wing mounted pods.

Not surprising especially given the rumor that J-11BG uses recycled antennas from first batch of J-16 that underwent upgrades.
That would be quite strange tbh.
TRMs are both the most expensive part, part improving the most overtime(reliability, price, specs), and the most expendable part.
