93rd Regiment under 26th Division based in SuZhou, been flying JC-8 before this stop gap conversion, a recon reg.

Pardon, wait ... you say the 93rd AR has finally retired its JC-8 (JZ-8F) and converted to a mix of J-11A/B/BS???

May I ask where you got this from and even more if these images were taken at SuZhou? ... and what do you mean with "stop gap conversion"? So it will gain another type soon?

Thank you for your reply! That was fascinating information, quite beyond what I could have anticipated based on my own knowledge.
Having re-examined the location, it appears to be a

This overturns my initial, rather superficial assumption that AB was Hailar, and it now seems almost certain that AB is Suzhou

That's indeed interesting ... but again, @HeroOftheFerelden any more info you could add?
Got the feeling this topic has been discussed before. Pics of the 93rd flying J11A first appeared last year.

So basically both 47th and 93rd Recon Regiments at the moment are flying J11A with a few J11BS as compliment. Clearly the aircrafts won't perform much better than the JC-8 and don't have much service life left, hence everyone speculate what lies for these two units.

Wow … The 47th too? In fact I did not hear anything like this, so thanks and any additional info is highly appreciated!

PS ... me again @HeroOftheFerelden is there some footage or a report available with the Flankers from the 47th?

And me again again! Are you sure with the 47th AR, since the 47th per my info has several GX-types like the Y-8CB (GX1),
Y-8G (GX3) and KJ-500 (GX10) at Shenyang Yu Hung Tun. The JC-8F unit is per my list the 46th AR?
