Apart from these pods on the wingtips, are there any other fundamental differences between a J-16D and a standard J-16? Are the sensors different?

The most obvious way to tell them apart is of course wingtips - J-16D/J-15D are the only two chinese flankers using wingtip pods; otherwise, if you see pods on chinese flanker from any range - it's Russian flankers in chinese service.

But otherwise (adding to @Tomboy) there are many differences - visibly different radar(smaller cone), conpletely different configuration of antennas around the airframe(below cockpit and behind it; stabilizers).

Was it ever mentioned that they updated the FLCS in the J-11BG to be fully digital FBW like the J-11BS since the J-11B uses a mixed digital/analog FBW (digital in pitch, analog for roll)?

Seems to be the case, MKK and MK2 are all gone for good now. Basically, the only Russian origin fixed wing fighter still in active PLAAF service would be the Su-35S.

Flying training or static training for engineers and ground crew?
