They are second tier aircraft so I don't think there is an iterative development program going on for them. They will likely keep what they have until their current fit is deemed too outdated.

The whole force is being updated/supported through its full life cycle.

PLAAF can't afford any other approach in the current climate, USAF/Navair is still much bigger. While the core of USAF isn't exactly up to date, quantity matters.

with the J10c further developments they might be doing it not immediately but asap
once beside PAF china have couple of more countries I line for j10c export money
is within more and more upgrades from the present model of export this is how USA
is making after introducing f16s upgrades

To be fair, in the context of a Pacific conflict, USAF can't bring its full weight to bear all at once.

China has to prepare for a conflict that involves the ROCAF, USAF, USN, JASDF and maybe even the ROKAF all at once while keeping the IAF at bay so matching the USAF and USN at minimum is to be expected hence why even the J-10A are still being retained and upgraded.

Aren't J-10As getting their radars upgraded from PD to AESA?

Old slotted array radars have degraded in performance pretty severely, some have only 50% of their original detection range. If they don’t swap them out the airframes would be little better than useless.

Also keep in mind that AESA tactics are very different and pilots will need to unlearn bad habits if they are trained on J-10A/J-11B. Retrofitting radar will ease the transition process.

An interesting poster from what I assume to be an exhibit about 98th fighter brigade.

From August 13 to September 7, 2019, five J-16s of our brigade participated in Shaheen (Eagle) joint exercise in Pakistan. Our J-16s scored a total of 51 kills after 70 sorties. Kills include 14 J-10Cs, three J-11Bs, one J-11BS, 11 JF-17s, 13 Mirage 5s, and nine F-7PG).

I think the more noteworthy info are that the J-16 squad studied a certain missile’s (without a doubt PL-15) attack envelope and methods for dodging it in combat, feasibility study of high ballistic trajectory launch at a certain height(probably Pl-15 again), and the ability of J-16’s radar to detect and identify certain fighter aircraft formations.
