Thank you, friend!

As a follow-up question, has the J-11BG already been largely replaced by newer platforms in PLAAF? It sounds that way as I read through this thread but my (previous) understanding was that the AESA radars and other upgrades would keep them in service for a long time ...

Are J-11A/Bs able to act as buddy tankers? If so, one significant role they might be able to play during wartime is supplementing the limited tanker fleet, with their high internal fuel capacities and being relegated to second line duty anyway. Same goes for the J-15As which of course we already know can, as they get replaced aboard the CVs by the T.

There is no need for J11A/B to act as buddy tanker because their operational areas are either over land or within 1st or2nd island chains, and if they are running short on fuel, they have the option of landing at nearest military air field or civilian airports, or refuel from YY-20 off China's coasts.

I don't know if PLAAF has the second largest tanker fleet in the World or not as at this moment, but I am very sure they will be one within the next 5 years.

Except of course J11s have no AAR capability.
