You've never lived until you hear a B1 on full reheat. I don't know how many decibels it was but that unholy noise will make grown men cry and rattle Earth's very foundation. the ea6 Prowlers are damn loud as well. Gerry can probably concur.
I've actually stood less than 100 yds from a B-1 in full reheat, it made the ground shake, and quake,,,, to say it was at 30,000 by the end of the runway would be lying, but, I've never seen an aircraft of that size, climb like that, with the exception of the Concorde, same runway, different year. The Concorde was flying paying passengers.....They say the F-35B will be a howler as well, but the quadraphonic sound of Four big engines in full reheat, no way the F bird can beat that?????
As I sit here in the dark looking at the pictures of my little Russian honey's and yes I did fondle them, and ran my hands over their not unsubstantial bodies, I only wish I could have taken you guys there. My little brother doesn't really have the appreciation for them that you gentlemen do, I only wish I could have seen Natasha, but she very seldom flies???way to valuable to play with???? This outfit has an Air Force, I also watched a Bone doing touch and goes at Kelly AFB in Texas, I am rather certain he was not using full reheat....
