We have seen ram air intakes before, on KG600 and KG800 pods, but they've been on the sides of the pod rather than the ventral surface.

Probably not for a ram air turbine either, the duct to the outlet seems too long and circuitous for that purpose. Most likely cooling air inlets.

Can J16D be launched via catapult ? I don’t see the attachment yet . Shouldn’t the designer consider this as J16D need to be cross platform operable across different carriers ?

Are you thinking about J-15D? J-16D is for PLAAF while J-15D is for carriers. J-15D should be launched via catapult.

Well, now, that's interesting. My theory for why the J-16D had a smaller radar was that a sizeable portion of its electrical power went to the pods. But since the pods have an onboard generator, that refutes that theory. So why does the J-16D have a smaller radar?

that is a smaller nose corn, but not necessarily be a smaller radar, more like the position of the radar is moved a little bit backward to the room where original IRST was, after it got removed

We don't actually know what the relative sizes of each aircraft's radar is, nor if they are the same or different in type.
