how do we know that is not just a su30? it doesnt look like fresh out of factory yellow, it looks more run down, more like "lets strip the paint down and prepare the plane for thorough refurbishment kind of yellow"

We don't, but the chances of xinhui posting a pic of a Su-30 and calling it J-16 is relatively low. Although he's made mistakes before. If the engines weren't blurred we'd be able to tell definitively.
