A Chinese reporting wrote that CCG 18602 is ex GY820 integrated support ship operated by PLA Ground Force. PLA Ground Force had 2 ships of the same class. It is possible that both ships were transferred to CCG.

CCG 18602 is said to be a training ship for the CCG Training Academy.

这种船的转变也揭示了军用装备互相转移的现实。有消息称，海警18602其实就是最初的GY820综合保障船，并在去年与其他一些海军战舰一同转给了海警。原本的舷号可能是海警4205，后来改为了五位数的18602。这使得陆军失去了它的最大型舰船——GY820。从2015年11月GY820正式入列，到2022年转移给海警，它在陆军中服役的时间不到7年。

Suspected new cutter-class for the China Coast Guard under construction at Huangpu-Wenchong shipyard. Said new cutter (left side) is already receiving CCG paintjob, and the 76mm gun turret installed.
