These cars are not usually sold in most car dealers in India simply because they're not feasible in the place. They're not too easy to navigate in a traffic especially with narrow roads, and buyers are too practical to choose what's convenient for them.

Geely managed to purchase Volvo from Ford, but in my view Chinese companies must focus long-term on building domestic brands in order to achieve real respectability, buying foreign brands just won't cut it wrt market respect.

I believe buying of foreign brands is a good move... if the Chinese plan to use the technology that these brands process to upgrade their existing automobile technology.

Also many countries around the world impose a lot of technical restriction on car imports, not sure about Europe or US. Thus buying an establish brand of that nation's origin will help you enter the market easily.

Geely plans to use this concept model to make the world's least expensive car to compete with the Tata Nano. They claim it will be better quality.
