Btw, just now I saw that even Turkey formally applied to fully join BRICS a few months ago but was rejected by India due to their relations with Pakistan. It didn't cross my radar.
I looked around and find this time line.
September 27, 2024, Erdogan omitted Kashmir issue in his UNGA speech.
The shift in Turkey’s stance is so pronounced that former Pakistani diplomat Maleeha Lodhi noted Erdogan has consistently raised the issue of Kashmir in his UN speeches since 2019.
“Unlike the last 5 years, President Erdogan did not mention Kashmir in his speech to the UN General Assembly. He did that in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023,” Lodhi wrote on X.
Erdogan's application to BRICS some time in 2024 and India's blocking.
Then February 23, 2025, Erdogan voiced his support to Pakistan again.
Turkey’s President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during his recent visit to Islamabad, has again raised the Kashmir issue
We can see the true face of Erdogan, an opportunist whose words worth nothing. It wouldn't surprise anyone that nobody could believe him, even the Indians. What happened behind the scene might have been that Erdogan skipped Kashmir issue in 2024 UNGA speech thinking that is enough to buy the ticket from India, India asked Turkey to explictly state neutrality, Erdogan could not afford to be seen as a traitor in the muslim world, so India blocked Turkey. This is another example of "not to punch above your weight". If Erdogan kept Turkey's past diplomatic posture, nobody could blame him for saying nothing, Turkey may have a better chance.
