LOL..sign me up in her unit.:eek: If even though as reservist she still has to keep her hair in such manageable way like put in braid or keep it tucked under her helmet or field hat during field training exercises.

Israeli girls from the age of 18 has to serve 21 months in the IDF while boys have to serve for 3 years. Generally only men serve in the reserve forces. The Israeli army also has large numbers of non citizens serving in its army. Those are Jews from all over the world. So I think those are the reasons why the Israeli's are more lenient about girls with long hair in the army. Unlike other countries where girls serving in the military are generally volunteers in Israel they are largely conscripts. Only in Israel would you see girls on the beach clad in a bikini toting a assault rifle!

As far as I remember, iDF does rotate there soldiers. So they have both a civilian life, as well as, time in the military. And from most pictures I have seen over the years, there doesn't seem to be a rule that applies where you have to have a buzz cut in order to serve in the army!
