I'll choose the german good old-style G3 series rifle, I'm nostalgic of those heavy round 7,62 NATO once used in the Army. In my unit, we consider the 5,56 NATO round as female target shooting caliber, it's not powerful, bad stopping power, but more useful, I admit, for a modern short distance battlefield than the heavy round because of less recoil and easier to use for new recruit, so the 5,56 is not very appreciate by the veteran... "I don't like this new rifle, it's like a platic BB Gun" (Quote from movie We were Soldiers about the M16) If I really has to vote for 1 of the 4 that in the list, I'll choose the M16 (well, i'm more thinking about our C7A1)

we don't relly care it's heavy or not, it's a little more than the loaded C7A1, not a big difference when we carry it, BTW, the G3KA4 is light enough... when a weapon it's too light, we will think that's cheap instead, that why we are attached to our bulkier and heavy Browning Hi-Power GP35 pistol of WWII-era, the weight give safety mentally to soldiers

Ok so i admit.In some occasions g3 beats the g36.In firefights that are up to 100m or more.Thats why lithuania chose the g3 instead of the g36.We have a fairly low level of urbanisation so forests and fields would be the main battlefield here and here is were the g36 isnt as good as the g3.

Well i made my point quite clear on the annouchments posted in every forum...and this thread is on the edge...should i close it? perhaps, tough discussion of assault rifles and their capapilityes isen't forbidden in here.
....But as i said when making these threads, give adecuate information against wich the comparison should be made. What do we know about Type 97 or that iranian rifle? Have anyone here actually fired whit them?
If you where aware, then why on earht you post it anyway? Alone for that i should have closed this one. So for punishment you are now obligated to tell us more about the iranian rifle...
